How Double Wall Works:
Double wall tanks are designed to add protection against tank failure. Typically, tanks have been kept within concrete containment pits to add this level of safety. Over the years these pits have become limiting, and more expensive to construct. Once the pit has been erected there is no option to move it across the plant to a new location. The price of that alone can be detrimental, especially in these cost sensitive times. Double wall containment also aids in saving expensive chemical stock in the event of a catastrophic failure. Pits, unfortunately, do not typically keep debris and rainwater from entering the containment area so if a tank fails the product will be tainted with all the contents of the pit. Double Walled Tanks help to combat that scenario by offering a second tank that contains any product during a failure. Protectoplas Double Wall Tanks offer even further aid with a tank that blocks all rainwater and debris from entering the secondary containment.
