Plastic double walled tanks are becoming the industry standard for bulk storage. HDLPE or High Density Linear Polyethylene is the choice material for these types of tanks. This is due to its excellent chemical resistance, durability, and available accessories.
Bulk storage tanks come in a variety of sizes. One of the most popular of those is the 8,000 gallon model. Protectoplas is one of the first tank companies to offer this size tank in a double wall design. Over the years, Protectoplas has been a leader in custom tank design and plastic fabrication. When asked to create a tank that alleviates the burden of dyke systems, the "DW" tank line was born. A combination of heavy moldings along with superior welding technology allowed the DW line to feature items like a sealed and vented interstitial space. By sealing this space the problems of rainwater, snow, and ice are no longer a maintinance issue. The heavy industrial moldings allow for lifting lugs, hold down lugs, service with heavy chemicals such as sulfuric acid, and provides years of lasting protection against its physical environment.
Large sized double wall tanks are also readily available. Protectoplas keeps an inventory of moldings and parts need to construct this grand equipment. The primary and secondary units can be molded with extra heavy wall thickness to achieve specific gravity rating of 2.0 and beyond. This heavy duty construction, combined with large capacity (actual storage of 8,200 u.s.g.) makes this tank a space saver. These large storage tanks can be outfitted with our welded double wall fittings, ladders, platforms, level and leak detection equipment, hold down systems, large top manways, mixers, and just about anything else you may need.
